2010 Intern In GERMANY

Introduction

Working in a company abroad offers a great opportunity to discover many aspects of another country’s language and culture that are otherwise unobtainable. Cultural Embrace offers a way to maximize the benefits of a stay in Germany with professional work experience. This program consists of a combination of German courses and an internship with a company located in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, or Freiburg.
Our Intern in Germany program is aimed at university students with the appropriate skills, graduates and post-graduates, and professionals from all sectors. We offer a wide variety of work experience placements. Examples listed below are a guide of where we have already made placements:
Hospitality/Food & Beverage, Graphic Arts, Non-Profit Associations, Engineer, Car industry, Financial services, Tourism, Cinema and Entertainment, Communication/Media, Consulting, Sports, Distribution, Publishing, Marketing, Business associations, Law firms, Hotels/Restaurants, Computing/IT, Real estate, Laboratories, Fashion, Shipping, Leisure, Opticians, Auxiliary Medical services, Media and News agencies, Promotion and Sales, Insurance, and more...

Internships range from 10 to 12 weeks. Due to visa regulations, US citizens may intern in German for a maximum of 12 weeks, or an extension (up to 6 months) is possible under a student visa. Contact your European Programs Coordinator for more info.

There is a mandatory 4-weeks German language program (Standard-20 lessons/week) before the internships placement. It is required that the applicant speaks an upper-intermediate level of Germany by the time placement begins. If you are at the beginner-elementary level we strongly recommend extending your German training up to 12 weeks. For elementary-intermediate, we suggest training up to 9 weeks in order to get the appropriate level. Intensive courses are also available. Placement will begin directly after the language program is completed. Most interns are NOT paid, however a bonus could be negotiated at the discretion of the company.
