Sometimes the best way to learn about a culture is through its food!  Like many other cultures, food is an integral part of India's history, customs, and traditions.  The vast subcontinent has benefited from numerous cultural, religious, and ethnic influence and has therefore produced a diverse, wide ranging and delicious selection of Indian cuisines. 

In our effort to offer a wide range of opportunities to participants, Cultural Embrace now offers an instructive, hands-on Indian cooking program.  Participants will benefit from learning the history and tradition associated with Indian food as well as participating directly in the cooking process.  Additionally, dinner visits with Indian families, cultural workshops, and organized local excursions will provide further cultural relevance and learning experiences to all participants.

Hands-on and instructional cooking classes, the primary feature of the program, will include the subjects related to: 

• History and Origins of Indian food
• Varieties of Indian cooking
• Indian food ingredients and spices
• Food preparation

The program involves more than merely class instruction. participants will benefit from a wide variety of hands-on cultural activities, including:

·          Cultural Workshops:
Every day Yoga Classes (excluding weekends) and workshops on Saree Tying and Henne Making will ensure added educational and cultural benefit.   

·          Taj Mahal Visit:
Upon arrival in Delhi, all participants will visit the Taj Mahal, the most famous of India’s historical monuments. All meals, comfortable overnight accommodation, and English-speaking tour guides to be provided.

·          Camel Safari
Participants will experience the traditional Rajasthani culture on this ride across the vast Rajasthani desert. All meals, comfortable overnight accommodation, and English-speaking tour guides to be provided.
