2010 INDIA Teach Program
Introduction
Cultural Embrace's India teach program invites you to experience the mystery of India while you immerse yourself in the beautiful community of Jaipur as an English teacher. Known as the “Pink City” because of the color of the stone wall which surrounds it, you will discover Jaipur’s blend of authentic Indian culture through daily yoga, meditation and Hindu classes as well as homemade Indian meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Navigate expansive bazaars selling textiles, jewelry, embroidery, blue pottery and other exotic wares. Begin your adventure with a two day orientation covering the history, educational system and culture of India. Follow this with training at your school and share teaching methods with other local and international teachers.
Knowledge and mastery of English is a near-necessity for academic and professional achievement in India. International teachers are respected and appreciated for their fluency in English, new perspective, enthusiasm and dedication to cultural exchange. The requirements are competitive requiring teachers to be at least 21 years of age, complete the TEFL certification (included in the program), be presently enrolled or graduated from university, and speak English as their native language. Teachers are matched with primary or secondary schools to teach children 5-13 years of age. The school s provides training, support and assistance to enable all teachers to be successful. Teaching English in India is a learning experience for everyone involved!
