Teach English in Vietnam is an incredible way to immerse yourself in the beautiful community of Vinh. You will have an incredible experience living, working, and providing a service to the local, as you teach students from all ages your native English language.

Cultural Embrace's Austin office will secure your placement prior to departure, and will organize your arrival orientation, training, and housing logistics. While in Vietnam, you will have a local coordinator that will support you with any questions you may have. Housing and a basic stipend of ~US$250/month for semester or year-long programs, or ~$175/month for 3-month programs are included in your program (both amounts go far in Vietnam).

You must be a native English speaker with proficient written and spoken English language skills.Teachers will need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline for paid Teach in Vietnam placements, and committed to teach for a semester or year. Shorter term volun-teach placements are available.

  Cultural Embrace pre-arranges your teaching placement before you leave home to ensure an easy, hassle-free transition to your new life abroad.

  • Local Salary

  While each destination and school has a different budget, we will negotiate the best possible compensation package in terms of salary, room, board and/or offered cultural classes (e.g. language, art, music). The minimum monthly stipend will be $250 for teachers with semester or year-long commitments and $175 for 3-month placements, along with your included housing. This is enough to support yourself in Vietnam.

  • Housing Assistance

  Schools include private rooms in shared furnished housing for teachers in teachers’ apartment or dormitory.

  • Visa Assistance

  All teachers travel on a tourist visa to Vietnam, which is granted upon arrival. The school and our local coordinator will help teachers extend or change their visas in country.

  • Arrival Assistance

  Airport pick-up and transfer will be available from Hanoi or Vinh airports for all teachers.

  • Travel Insurance: Basic Major Medical Coverage

   Our policy provides basic medical coverage at your teaching location. Cultural Embrace highly recommends purchasing additional travel insurance.

  • Full-time Representation

  Cultural Embrace provides representation in the United States and your host country prior to, during, and after your placement.

  • Arrival Orientation

  Upon arrival, you will go through an orientation period where you will be able to familiarize your-self with the local culture and best practices for your stay in Vietnam.

  • Certification

  If you wish to receive a certificate detailing your teaching experience in Vietnam, please let us know and we will provide the necessary documentation.

  • Online TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Course

   This course teaches the skills and techniques required for successful language instruction and classroom preparation. It is a 20-unit course that may be completed at your leisure, requiring approximately 100-120 hours of attention. You will receive a TEFL certificate upon course completion within six months.

• Native English speakers with excellent spoken and written language skills.
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline for semester and year-long teaching placements. For 3-month placement, teacher must have completed 2 years of college.
• Experience working with others as a teacher, mentor, coach, tutor, etc. is preferred.
• Enjoy leading groups and teaching students from varying backgrounds.
• Possess good lesson planning and organizational skills.
• Maintain good attendance at staff meetings.
• Open to foreign cultures and living abroad.
• High level of responsibility.
• Dedication to completing the full term of commitment.
• Undergo any necessary health tests and obtain any required immunizations.

1. Obtain the Teach Abroad Application Forms & Procedures documents in one of three ways: 

(a) Download the forms:  Teach Application (pdf).   Teach in Vietnam Program Details and FAQ (pdf).

(b) Fill out an online application request form and the forms will be e-mailed to you within 2-3 days.

(c) Call Cultural Embrace at 1-512-469-9089 or Skype: Cultural.Embrace to have the forms mailed to you in 3-5 days.

2. Read the instructions carefully and complete all forms.

• Teach Program Application
• Signed Teach Program Agreement
• Resume/CV
• Cover Letter explaining why you want to teach abroad
• Copy of your Bachelor's degree and other significant credentials
• Copy of your passport (information page only)
• Three Letters of Recommendations (your referrer can send it directly to us via post or email)
• Two passport-size photos(with your name on the back)
• One full-length picture
• Police clearance background check
• Recent medical report verifying physical and mental health
• US$250 non-refundable deposit (credited towards your program fee)

*Cultural Embrace will require an expedited application fee for those applying 12 weeks or fewer before the desired date of departure. Applications received 8-12 weeks prior to your desired departure date will be charged $150. Applications received fewer than 8 weeks before the desired departure date will be charged $250.

Upon receiving your application, we will contact you for a 20-30 minute telephone interview to learn more about your skills, experience, and needs and to discuss the program details and expectations.
