We work with a network of companies that will provide you with practical work experience focusing on your field of study. Placements are made in many industries including but not limited to: accounting and finance, architecture, office administration, computers & IT, civil engineering, fashion, insurance, international trade, law, media, graphic design, hotel & catering, freight/transportation, public relations, marketing, event management, travel/tourism, logistics, and much more. Both general and specialized placements can be made.
Program Highlights, Benefits and Requirements

Cultural Embrace guarantees an internship offer made with your requested preferences. Due to visa regulations, all positions are unpaid. However, many companies are prepared to pay bonuses based on your work performance. A local supervisor within the company will be available to advise and monitor your work program progress.
Cultural Embrace will pre-arrange accommodations for the duration of your stay based upon your budget and preferences. Single and shared rooms in student residences are available. Housing is not included in program fee.
Cultural Embrace will arrange your work permit for you, provided that you are a US or Canadian citizen (other nationalities must arrange their own work permit). The fee to receive your work permit is NOT included in your program fee. Although we submit the information for your work permit/visa, we do not have the ability to guarantee government issuance and/or visa availability.
Upon arrival, your orientation will provide you with pertinent information regarding local transportation, banking, and safety. You will also receive tips on travel, communications, and social and outdoor activities. Finally, you will be familiarized with the code of conduct and expectations for your internship.
Our policy provides basic emergency medical coverage. Cultural Embrace highly recommends additional travel insurance.

Cultural Embrace provides representation in the United States and the UK & Ireland prior to, during, and after your placement.
· For US passport-holding citizens (and Green Card Holders):
o -You must be a current full-time student taking at an accredited US college or university, or a recent graduate, beginning your program within 12 months of your graduation date.
· - For non-U.S. and non-Canadian passport holding citizens: if you are able to obtain your own work permit or working holiday visa, we can pre-arrange your placement and accommodations. Unfortunately, we cannot assist those who are unable to acquire work permits for the UK.
· -Minimum duration is 8 weeks and maximum is 6 months; preference given to applicants that can work for 6 months.
· -You must have access to a minimum of US$1500. This minimum amount does not have to be entirely in cash - traveler’s checks, ATM, and debit/credit cards may also be presented. You are required to show that you have immediate access to funds via bank accounts or parental help.

How to Apply
1. Obtain the Intern Abroad Application Forms & Procedures documents in one of three ways:
(a) Download the forms: Intern Application (PDF). Intern in UK and Ireland Details and FAQ (PDF).
(b) Fill out an online application request form and the forms will be mailed to you within 7-10 days.
(c) Call Cultural Embrace at 1-512-469-9089 or 1-888-214-8570 (US toll-free) to have the forms mailed to you in 7-10 days.
2. Read the instructions carefully and complete all forms.
3. Submit your completed application packet to:

Completed packet should include:
- Intern Program Application
- Signed Intern Agreement
- Copy of your passport (information page only)
- University/College transcript (official please)
- Copies of diploma or certificates related to field of interest (if applicable)
- Resume/CV
- Cover Letter describing the goals you wish to accomplish with your internship in the UK/Ireland
- Two References: preferably professional and/or character references
- Doctor’s Certificate verifying that you are in excellent mental and physical health
- Copy of Police Clearance (obtainable from your community's local police station)
- Four 1½" x 2" official passport-size photos, signed on the back
- One smiling full-length photo of yourself
- US$200 non-refundable deposit (credited towards your program fee)
We recommend submitting your application and program fee at least 16-20 weeks prior to your desired start date in order for us to organize and arrange your internship.
Cultural Embrace requires an expedited application fee for those applying 16 weeks or fewer before the desired date of departure. Applications received 12-16 weeks prior to desired departure date will be charged $150. Applications received fewer than 12 weeks before the desired departure date will be charged $250.
